Close-fitting, roomy or cropped? Start with how you want the top to feel, then check where you want the hem to land. Here is how our fitted baby tee, relaxed Comfort Colors tee and fitted crop tee compare.
Choose your shape. Keep your personality.
These are three different cuts, not three versions of the same size. Choose the shape you enjoy, then check its measurements.
01 / CLOSE FIT
The fitted baby tee
BELLA+CANVAS 1010: short sleeves, a crewneck and a fitted, mid-length micro-rib body. For a close-fitting base under an open jacket.
02 / MORE ROOM
The relaxed tee
Comfort Colors 1717: a relaxed shape, short sleeves and heavyweight cotton. Start here if you prefer a roomier tee with more length.
03 / CROPPED
The fitted crop tee
BELLA+CANVAS 6681 has a fitted cropped body and short sleeves. FOCUS. comes in combined XS/S and M/L sizes.
Fit is a preference, not a gender. Pick your shape, coverage and room to move.
Start with the silhouette
The Outlined Heart Embroidered Micro-Rib Baby Tee uses the BELLA+CANVAS 1010. It has a fitted, mid-length shape, short sleeves, crewneck binding and a fine 1x1 micro-rib texture. Choose this direction if you like a tee that sits close and want sleeve coverage.
The FOCUS. Fitted Crop Tee uses BELLA+CANVAS 6681, with a fitted cropped body, short sleeves and a small centered chest print. Sizes are combined XS/S and M/L. Check its own garment chart before choosing.
The Good Energy Comfort Colors 1717 tee is the relaxed alternative: a full-length short-sleeve tee with a heavyweight cotton body. It is a different shape from the fitted 1010, so sizing up a baby tee will not turn it into the same cut.
Check length before the size letter
“Baby tee” and “crop” describe a style, but they do not tell you exactly where a hem will land. Your chosen size, torso length and the rise of your bottoms all affect how the outfit comes together. Compare the actual garment lengths for your selected sizes.
Start with the trousers or skirt you plan to wear most. Try them with a top you own, then notice whether you want the new hem to overlap the waistband, meet it or leave a gap. Measure that reference top so you have a useful length to compare with the product guide.
If coverage matters to you, check while sitting and raising your arms as well as standing. A mirror photo only captures one position.
Measure a favorite top in four steps
- Pick a useful comparison. Use a fitted tee for the baby tee, a relaxed tee for the 1717 or a fitted crop tee for FOCUS.. A thick, oversized sweatshirt will give you a very different reference.
- Lay it flat. Smooth the fabric gently on a level surface without pulling it wider or longer.
- Check width and length. Follow the measurement method shown in the product's size guide. For the outlined heart baby tee, compare the flat chest width and the length from the high point of the shoulder to the hem.
- Compare the numbers. Look at the sizes on either side of your reference measurements, then choose according to how much room and length you want.
A flat garment width is not your chest circumference. Keep garment measurements and body measurements separate, and make sure your tape and the chart use the same units. Fabric stretch also affects the feel, so an unstretched width cannot tell the whole story.
For example, the outlined heart baby tee's current size guide lists a medium at approximately 15 inches wide when laid flat and 19.62 inches long. That is a useful comparison with your favorite tee, rather than a reason to assume medium will be your size in every style. Use each product's own guide.
Check the shape and coverage
The baby tee and FOCUS. both have short sleeves, but their lengths and size ranges differ. Compare each product chart with a similar top you own.
Plan one outfit and one extra layer
For the baby tee, try relaxed denim and an open jacket. For the fitted crop tee, try loose trousers with a button-down worn open. Keep the rest simple enough that you can focus on how the top feels with your actual wardrobe.
Consider sleeve space under a fitted jacket, how much length you want beneath an open layer, and whether you will want that layer when the temperature changes. You do not need a new outfit for every top.
Your quick fit checklist
- How much sleeve and hem coverage do I want?
- Do I prefer a close fit or a relaxed shape through the body?
- Have I compared flat width and length with a similar top?
- Will the hem work with the bottoms I actually wear?

Photos for the outfit. Measurements for the fit.
Our AI-styled lifestyle mockups suggest ways to wear the pieces. They are not photographed fit tests and cannot tell you exactly where a hem will sit on your body. Use each product’s garment details and size chart when choosing your fit. Ask us before ordering if you need a closer look at a color or print placement.
If you are unsure about a measurement or cannot find the chart you need, ask us before ordering. For print care, follow the instructions on the specific product page.
